The Sendero Los Quetzales THIS IS ONE OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL TRAILS OF CENTRAL AMERICA. And next to a good hike it's also one of Panama's top bird watching locations. We offer this excursion as a half day, full day tour and full day tour with the full hike. Full day tour / Full hike When you sign up for the full hike, you will be hiking half way around Volcano Baru to the small town of Guadelupe. Because we will use a 4x4 vehicle, the hike is not 9 but +/- 6 hours. But you will walk and bird the complete trail ! Depending on the time of year we may see birds like the three wattled Bell bird, Resplendent Quetzal, Wren Thrush, fiery throated Hummingbird and many more are indigenous on this trail. We will be at your hotel at 7 AM(earlier if you wish), and bring you with a 4x4 Toyota Landcruiser to the Ranger station of National park Volcan Baru. Here we will enjoy if you wish a good picnic breakfast* in the wilderness. The trail goes through different elevation's and landscapes. Around noon we will stop for a good picnic lunch*. But please note there is never a guaranty, it is a bird and birds fly.... The weather ? Boquete has ever lasting summer...and that is what it is but it rains also in the summer ! The weather in Boquete is in dry or wet season difficult to forecast. Boquete area is like a blanket of micro climates. The first thing we do in the morning is have a good look around and next we know where to go for the best birding spots. But don't worry when it rains in the afternoon (normal from April to December!) We will know where to go best and chances are good it will be nice and sunny the next morning !
